Secrets, Lies and Quality Deer

If you’re in a hunting club, you know that hunting clubs have few secrets.

If you catch just a glimpse of a big buck and tell a buddy sworn to secrecy, it won’t be but about two days before all club members are mysteriously clamoring to hunt that area for the remainder of the season. This often leads to secrets and lies. “I saw nothing or I’ve seen it all.”

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a private hunting place of your own? Who says you can’t?

Imperial No-Plow, the specialized high-protein wildlife seed blend which can be planted without the aid of tilling and plowing, allows hunters to create small, food plots tucked away discretely in the woods. An afternoon this fall is all that is needed to create your own mini food plot.

Looking for a method that will give you the opportunity to take your club’s biggest buck next season? Locate an often-used food plot on the property. Then do a little scouting to locate the bedding area where the majority of the deer using that food plot are coming from.

Load your ATV or truck with a rake, a Weedeater, a bag of Imperial No-Plow and a bag of fertilizer. In a woods opening located between the bedding area and food plot – and near the trail connecting the two – build your own secret honeyhole.

Clear the area with the Weedeater, and then rough up the soil with the rake. Sprinkle the recommended amount of fertilizer, then scatter the seeds. Lightly rake the seeds into the soil no more than ¼ inch deep.

Trophy bucks, as you know, rarely walk into large food plots except at night or during the rut. However, they will stage in smaller food sources – such as your mini food plot – until dark arrives.

Many hunters in recent years have used these islands, more often than not secret from even their closest hunting buddies, to take that buck of a lifetime.

Imperial No-Plow is not just for secret hideaways. It’s the perfect high-protein browse for fire lanes, gas lines, power lines, woods openings and other small areas where plowing is not feasible.

While boasting up to 25 percent protein, this specialized blend offers the ability to plant by scattering – an option that means unlimited potential to true trophy hunters willing to hunt the hard-to-get-to places.

Imperial No-Plow has also caught on with another segment of the hunting population, the hunter who has no access to expensive tractors and planting equipment. Imperial No-Plow means even the small landowners have the opportunity to compete with those holding large tracts of land.

Times when Imperial “No-Plow” should be your planting choice:

·        Areas not reachable with heavy equipment.

·        Plots with poor soil conditions.

·        If you’re late getting started or feeling a little lazy.

·        SECRET SPOTS.
