GOOD PEOPLE MAKE IT HAPPEN

I learned long ago there are three things essential to the success of any business:  people, people and people.  All the technology, all the money and all the business smarts cannot replace GOOD PEOPLE.

I could never have built the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and see it grow into a world-wide organization with more than 500,000 members without surrounding myself with outstanding, motivated people with a fire in their gut to make things happen. The same has happened with the Whitetail Institute.

Thanks to a dedicated staff, the Institute is growing year by year, exerting a positive influence upon hunters, land managers, and the whitetail environment. Our staff has never lost sight of our primary mission — to develop top-quality whitetail through improved nutrition and management and consequently improve hunting for outdoorsmen everywhere. Everyone at our headquarters has made it happen — from renowned agronomist Dr. Wiley Johnson working with his tiny clover seeds to Derrick Ford who sees the final product out the warehouse door.

Our Operations Sales Manager William Cousins worked as a college student on my farm and joined up as one of the very first employees at the Institute.  He knows farming and hunting inside and out. Every staff member has a story and every member is vital to the success of our unique enterprise.

I hope you’ll take the time to meet everyone listed below. I am especially proud of our Product Consultant Staff who have done such a magnificent job dealing with our customers and field testers across the country.  Our senior consultants, J.B. Smith and John White talk to deer hunters and land managers everyday.  With many years of experience between them, they have gathered invaluable information for our own use and for the benefit of other hunters. Whether you’re a first-time hunter/manager with a question about soil samples or a veteran who manages thousands of acres of hunting land, these men are here to answer your questions and help you design a management plan that will meet your personal needs.

The next time you pick up the phone, hopefully you’ll have a better idea of who and what is at the other end of the line. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Ray Scott

Ray Scott
Founder and President

He pursues excellence in hunting just as he did in fishing. And just as he became fascinated with improving the fishing environment and the quality of fishing, he became equally determined to improve the quality of deer and deer hunting in his home state of Alabama.
