As with so many other
members of his founding staff at the Whitetail Institute, fortune was
smiling on Ray when he found Brent Camp to act as Nutrition Director for
the new organization and oversee its development of mineral and vitamin
supplements designed specifically for whitetail.
When he joined the
Institute, Brent was recently retired as CEO and Nutrition Director at
V.M.S. in Montgomery, an international company specializing in animal
nutrition and animal drugs all over the world.
In the course of his
impressive 18-year career at V.M.S., Camp had expanded his company’s
product line to include supplemental nutrition products for wild game in
the U.S.
As an expert in micro and
macro supplements for animals, he brought much expertise to the
development of the Institute’s own Imperial 30-06 supplements for
whitetail deer.
Brent is a former U.S.
Air Force pilot who enjoys hunting, fishing and travel. He received his
B.S. from Auburn University and M.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and
did post-graduate studies for a Ph.D. at the University of Missouri.
Brent
has an intense respect for and knowledge of hunting and the use of
firearms, passed on by his grandfather who was a World War I sharpshooter
― a skill acquired in central Tennessee where he shot small game to
help feed his large family. He passed onto the young Brent respect for the
small game they pursued together and the environment in which they lived.
