Jon
Cooner is a life-long hunter and shooter.He was introduced to hunting as a young boy in
the dove fields of south
Alabama
by his grandfather, and he remains active in a broad
variety of hunting and shooting sports.
Before
joining The Whitetail Institute, Jon researched and
developed no-till food-plot seed mixes for his own
personal use and for his friends.He was introduced to The Whitetail Institute and
its products when he tried Imperial No-Plow in the early
1990s and found that it out performed all other no-till
forage mixes he had encountered.
Jon handles a wide
variety of special projects for The Whitetail Institute, but his favorite
activities are consulting with hunters and writing for The Whitetail News.He considers his position with The Whitetail Institute a dream come
true; “I spend each day working with the finest group of folks on earth,
deer hunters, to improve the quality of their deer and deer-hunting
experience.I consider myself
truly blessed, because I don’t know many people who can say that they
spend their work days doing something they truly love.”
