Imperial Whitetail Beets & Greens features annual seed varieties that are designed to work together to attract and hold deer throughout the fall and winter.

These include the Whitetail Institute’s proprietary kale, turnip and radish varieties, as well as the sweet attractiveness of sugar beets. These components are included in the Beets & Greens food plot in ratios that Whitetail Institute testing has proven will provide abundant, highly attractive tonnage from early fall through late winter, as well as tubers to help deer through the harsh winter months. Designed for planting in the fall, Beets & Greens establishes and grows quickly.

Best Food plot for deer September-November

Posted by Unknown on 7th May 2020

We plant tons of food plots (over 15 acres of beans and corn) but we make sure to always have beets and greens closest to the box blinds we hunt. From September-november they crush this, it makes a beautiful food plot with high protein for herd health. Here in Minnesota they demolished the radishes, and ate all the tops off the turnips (havent figured out to eat the root part yet). We will be planting this for many years! Not great for a winter food source in Minnesota as we get a ton of snow, but great to hunt over and to provide green food source in the fall.

Skeptical at first... but absolutely amazed

Posted by Phil A. on 30th Jan 2019

Planted beets and green, ambush, winter greens, tall tine tubers, winter peas and pure attraction on my hunting lease in West Virginia. I have 2500 acres of Property that has never had anything planted on it before. I Performed Soil test, plowed 8 acres in April last spring , limed per soil test, used groundhog Max in August to rough up the ground, fertilized as recommended, seeded, walked away. Within a week it was germinating, within 5 weeks it was over 2 feet tall green and lush. Planted not expecting much results but to my surprise it looked like something off the outdoor hunting channel. By late September turnips was softball size and radishes 12 to 14 inches long not to mention the green leafs 12 inches long. Deer all in the plots. I actually set a stand in the fields just to video the deer. I was blown away, at any given time I had 16 to 20 plus deer in each field, they couldnt stay out of it. I only planted to give the deer a good food source in the late part of the year. Here in West Virginia winters can get cold and ugly, and I wanted to hold the deer on our property through the winter months. And it sure changed the deer pattern as well, deer we never had gotten on camera started showing up on camera around the plots in the fields, that told me the food plots were working and the deer were using the plots as well. Customer service is great! Any time I called the whitetail institute with questions they always took the time to answer and help me along in the planting process. If you are skeptical, don’t be, take it from me.... This stuff works and the deer love it. “Plant it, they will come”

    Worth the try...

I had never tried planting greens before, but I'm glad I did this year. I recommend that you get the soil test and follow the recommended instructions to the letter. This stuff was growing like crazy after about a month. Once the first frost hit it, deer were all over it. Planted this on 1/2 acre in Northwest Louisiana.

    Incredible Drawing Power

Posted by Bloodhound Six on 10th Dec 2018

I planted 2 acres of Beets and Greens early this Fall. Within two weeks, the deer were coming to the food plot religiously and they have been consistently hitting it through mid-December. Incredible plot throughout both the early and late season. I've planted Imperial Whitetail Clover products for over 10 years and this is my favorite annual food plot product. ...and given the quality of Whitetail Oats Plus...that's a very high bar! Great job with this seed mix selection.

    Blown away

Posted by JA- Maine on 2nd Dec 2018

Our season just ended and although we did not fill our tags with any big bucks it wasn’t because we didn’t have some opportunities.... anyway, just wanted to share that we had the earliest snowfall that I can remember here in Maine, and we currently have around 26” of snow on the ground and the deer are still in the plots everyday. They’re digging through the snow to get to the bulbs of the Beets & Greens. I’m absolutely blown away that they’re wading through this heavy deep snow to dig up the radishes and turnips! Anyway, I was always sold on your seed mix but this went beyond my expectations. Just wanted to share that....

Update to 22" of rain plot

Posted by Tom T. on 8th Nov 2018

Ok I just got done with 2 weeks of bow hunting. When the wind was right and I hunted this plot, the amount of deer in this food source was amazing! Cams are showing deer are in 24/7 eating and eating. They have barely started to eat the beets so I am confident the deer will have plenty of reason to visit this plot for the opening of gun season in 1 week. Just an amazing product.
